Biography

Agnès Roy was born about January 1844^[1] in New Brunswick.

She was probably the Agnès Roi listed in the 1861 census in Bathurst, Gloucester, New Brunswick, age 18, the adopted child of Laurence C. Haché.^[2]

Agnès married Urbain Fougère (of Shediac) on 13 Nov 1871 in Newcastle.^[3][4] Witnesses were Alexander McLellan and Catherine Gallien.

In the 1891 census Agness, age 44, was in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick with her husband Rheubin [Urbain] and children Thomas R, Alexander, Sarah, Francis, Mary, and Emma.^[5]

In the 1901 census Agnès, age 52, was the wife of Urbain Fougére in Shediac, Westmorland, New Brunswick.^[6] They were listed with their son Francis and daughter Annie.

In the 1911 census Agnes, age 67, was in the household of her son Alexander in Shediac Parish, Westmorland, New Brunswick.^[1]

Agnès died on 17 Oct 1918 in Shediac, Westmorland, aged about 75.^[7]
