Biography

Marie Roy was born and baptized on 9 Dec 1802 in Saint-Charles parish in Bellechasse, Bas-Canada. She was the daughter of François Roy and Marie Bilodeau, farmers in this parish. Sponsors at Marie's baptism were Joseph Bilodeau and Anastasie ____; neither sponsor signed the register.

At age 17 Marie married Jacques Fournier on 21 Nov 1820 in Saint-Charles parish in Bellechasse, Bas-Canada. There were six known children born into this marriage.

Marie Roy died at age 49 on 5 Feb 1852 in Saint-Charles; she was buried two days later on 7 Feb in Saint-Charles parish cemetery.
