Biography
Gilbert Rowe was born on 8 Jul 1825 in Dutchess County, New York, United States. He was the son of Nicholas Row and Lydia Wolcott.
Gilbert Rowe married Cordelia M. Stoner on 1 Dec 1852 in Jackson, Michigan.[1]
In 1860 he was living in Township of Sharon, Washtenaw, Michigan.[2] The household included Gilbert Rowe 35, Cordelia Rowe 30, and Godfrey Easeman 24. Gilbert was a farmer. Godfrey was a farm laborer.
Gilbert registered for the US Civil War draft on 1 Jul 1863 in Sharon, Michigan.[3]
In 1870 he was living in Grass Lake, Jackson, Michigan.[4] The household included Gilbert Rowe 45, Delia Rowe 40, Nellie Rowe 9, Henry Reno 26, and Christiana Hasley 20. Gilbert was a farmer. Henry was a farm laborer. Christiana was a domestic servant.
He died on 17 Sep 1873 in Grass Lake Township, Jackson, Michigan.[5][6]
Gilbert was buried in Grass Lake East Cemetery, Grass Lake, Jackson County, Michigan with a death date of 17 Sep 1873.[7]
