Loyd Rowe was born in Pike County, Kentucky in May 1829. He was the son of Reuben Rowe and Clara Fry.
He married Wyrena Adkins on December 8, 1849 in Pike County, Kentucky.[1]
Their daughter Pricy Rowe was born in Pike County on May 9, 1852.[2]
In 1861 the U.S. Civil War came to Kentucky . If the number of close family who enlisted is any indication, they must have been staunchly pro-Union.Loyd fought in Company D as a Sergeant. He was promoted from sergeant to 1st Lieutenant on June 1, 1865. Many of his Rowe and Plymale first and second cousins and their in laws also fought in Company D : Reuben H. Rowe Sr, Reuben H. Rowe Jr, Solomon Rowe, Huffman Rowe, Stephen Rowe, Jake Rowe, Hughy Plymale, William Plymale, Nathaniel Blackburn, and Pleasant Childers III. Their cousin Arquilles Rowe was in Company I.[3]
He passed away November 29, 1912 (aged 83) in Watalula, Franklin County, Arkansas and was interred in Plymale - Barnes Cemetery in Franklin County, Arkansas.[4]
