Biography
Elizabeth Ross, daughter of Rev. George and Catherine, m. at Philadelphia., June 26, 1761, Col. Edward Biddle, lawyer at Reading, and an officer of Colonial troops in the French and Indian War: member of Colonial Assembly, 1767-75, and speaker thereof in 1774; member of Continental Congress, First and Second Sessions, resigned on account of ill health and d. at Baltimore, Maryland., Sept. 5, 1779.[1]
