Biography

Carl Rosin was born in Germany on 24 Jul 1840. He married Wilhelmine Trichel in 1867. They had five children. In 1884, the Rosin family boarded the ship Hohenstaufen leaving the port of Bremen. They arrived in Baltimore, Maryland on 4 Jun 1884. They settled in Lanark, Wisconsin, where they farmed. He became a naturalized citizen of the United States on 5 Oct 1909. After his wife passed away in 1921, Carl went to live his daughter, Ida (Rosin) Gillette in Vancouver, Washington. He died in the Emmanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon on 28 Mar 1928. His body was returned to Wisconsin for burial with his wife in Greenwood Cemetery in Amherst, Wisconsin.
