Biography

John Roblin is/was a significant Ontarian .
Birth - Some sources suggest 2 May 1774, however that puts him too close to his brother Owen's birth to be reasonable. Also only one son was over the age of 12 in 1783.

John Roblin, the eldest son of the Pioneer’s family, was among the first converts under Darius Dunham’s labours in the province, and became a zealous worker for the Methodist church and a popular local preacher. He was elected to the 5th Parliament of Upper Canada for Lennox and Addington but was unseated in 1810 reputedly because he was a lay preacher but probably because he sided with the Reformers. His constituency re-elected him but his seat was again declared vacant. Returning home, he was elected for the third time; however, he died before the next session commenced.[1]

Burial: Hay Bay, Adolphustown Twp., Lennox & Addington Co., Ontario, Canada[2]
