Biography

Basile, son of Francois Gabriel and Marie Catherine (Pepin) Robert was born in Chambly, Quebec, Canada on 5 Jan 1786;

  • Basile married first Josephte, daughter of Andre Marie and Marie Charlotte (Cournoyer) Dubreuil there on 19 April 1805;
  • Basile married second Marie Madeleine, daughter of Joseph and Marie Josephe (Choret) Lessard, there on 20 Nov 1809;
  • Basile married third Elizabeth, daughter of Abraham and Marguerite (Defossis) Lizotte in Napierville, Quebec on 30 Jun 1851;

Basile Robert died in Keeseville, Clinton, New York, United States on 8 May 1876, he was buried in Napierville, Quebec.

Basile died at age 91 probably at the home of his daughter Flavia in Keeseville and was buried in Napierville, Quebec at St-Cyprien Cemetery. Soon after Pierre’s death daughter Flavia and her husband Pierre Filion removed to Winchendon, Massachusetts where they lived the remainder of their lives. A son Basile (Jr) and his family also moved to Clinton County, New York.

Basile survived his three spouses and twelve of his fourteen known children.
