Biography

Sarah Jane Rivington was born in Huntley Township in 1874. She was the daughter of Michael Rivington and Susanna Spearman. She married Henry Roe.

Sarah Jane (Jennie) Roe (nee Rivington), widow of Henry Maxwell Roe, in her 90th year, passed away suddenly at her residence, 374 Athlone Avenue, Sunday November 15, 1964. Mother of Gordon, Toronto, John Hamlet, Belleville, Mrs. George Patterson (Cecilia), Mrs. Violet Brading, Ottawa, Mrs. Lloyd Brading (Lola), Milton, Ontario, Mrs. Edward Benjamin (Edith), Buffalo, New York, Mrs. Con Mulligan (Inez), Ottawa, also survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Resting at the Tubman Funeral Home, 403 Richmond road at Roosevelt. Service in chapel Wednesday, 2:30 p.m. Interment Pinecrest Cemetery. ^[1]
