William Ripley was born in Hollington, Sussex, England.

William was born about 1900 in Hollington, Sussex, England. He was the son of Moses Ripley and Jenta Roberts.
The 1901 England and Wales Census shows William living with his parents and three siblings in Hastings, Sussex, England.[1] He was one year old.
The 1911 England and Wales Census shows William living with his parents and four siblings in Hollington, Sussex, England.[2] He was 11 years old.
William was killed in action on 29 October 1918 in Flanders, Belgium serving as a Private in the 10th Battalion of the Essex Regiment. His Regimental Number was 44842.[3] He was 18 years old.
William was buried in the Cross Roads Cemetery in Fontaine-au-Bois, Departement du Nord, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France.[3]
