Biography
William Charles Riley was born in the Colony of South Australia (1836-1900)
William Charles Riley is an Anzac who served in World War One.
William Charles Riley was born 18 August 1869 in North Adelaide, South Australia. He was the son of Charles Riley and Susanna Lyon. [1]
He married Annie Loud on 18 January 1895 at St Augustine Church, Unley. [2]
He enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force, embarking from Adelaide on HMAT Geelong A2 on the 18 November 1915 with the 32nd Australian Infantry Battalion. Quartermaster Honorary Captain William Charles Riley returned to Australia in November 1919. [3]
William passed away age 67 on 25 October 1936 in Unley Park, South Australia [4] and was buried in Mitcham Anglican Cemetery. [5]

On the 25th October, at his residence, 41 Northgate street, Unley Park, William Charles, the dearly loved husband of Annie Riley, and affectionate father of Charlie and Mabel, Gladys, Blanche, Eric and Gwen, and dear grandfather of Ron, Claude and Shirley, late Captain Q.M. of 32nd Battalion A.I.F. Peacefully sleeping. [6]
