Biography

Elisabeth Riggle was born on October 15, 1838, in Bakersville, Coshocton County, Ohio.[1] She was the daughter of Michael Riegel and Sarah Eliabeth Bensinger. At age 12, she was in her parent's home in Adams Twp., Coshocton County, Ohio, along with 8 siblings.[2]
She married William Forney (1841-1922) on November 22, 1862. in Coshocton County, Ohio.[3] They had 7 children during their marriage with only 2 living in 1910.

They started out their married life in Adams, Coshocton County, Ohio where William was a Retail Dry Goods Salesman. By this time their first child, Charles A age 1, was born.[7]
They moved form Ohio to Kansas where they made their home in Toledo, Chase County, Kansas in 1880, where William was in retail Dry goods Sales, and she was taking care of the home and children, Edward-13, Charles-11, Hetie C-7, Sarah E-6, and Kittie M-0.[8] By 1900, they were living in Falls Twp., Chase county, Kansas.[9] She and William were in their home in Falls, Chase County, Kansas in 1910.[10]
She died on October 19, 1915, at the age of 77, in Strong City, Chase County, Kansas, and was buried in the Strong Township Cemetery.[1] Buried in the grave site plot are William and Elisabeth; Hetty, Kitty, Charlie.
