Paul it is your cousin Anne - I am sure you remember me from your wedding. I am trying to merge our profiles in order to make yours more accurate to the information after 1980 concerning Dr Rickert's information as it has some fallacies I would like to validate and other data I would love to further. My son is turning 12 this weekend, and since he has never met anyone in the family he is quite interested in the lineage. My mother made sure to upload the McGuire/McKewon lineage before she passed, and I know you have done so much work on the Rickert side it would be a joy for him to be able to see his heritage in one place. Please respond if you would to the request for merger on my father etc so that we may show him what a rich history he has. I plan to take him to the Mountain and Spring Lake soon. Somehow I think we all still belong there.

Hi Anne- I certainly recall you... I'm happy to collaborate to get things correct. I uploaded your father Birth Certificate a few minutes ago. Let me know if you have access to my ancestry.com account. Over 10,000 people (also my wife's side) on that...

Paul, so glad to see your interest in the Palatine immigrants. I, too, have Palatine ancestors! Mine migrated from Pa. to North Carolina early on.

So I was able to find a matching profile for Obediah's wife Anna Wyant and hope to get the profile of my Anna merge into that one soon. Thanks for helping out on this! Also thanks for adding the other family members, it is so nice to see the tree grow! Obediah is my husband 4th Great-Grandfather by the way.

The Heritage Museum on Rockingham Co sounds great, sadly with me living in Germany it is a bit far for a weekend trip at the moment, but if I get to be in the area at some point I absolutely have to stop by!

Thanks for the info on Obediah Crawford! A lot of it fits with what I have found out so far.

Do you have sources on the dates? I am especially interested in the maiden name of Obediah's wife Anna, since I still need to correct it in her profile, but I would like some good sources (like the marriage certificate or similar) before doing so. Please feel free to work on the profiles if you like (just make sure to source the info you put on there or note if it is just a guess)~Yvonne~

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz, Paul!

Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects coordinating them is essential.

Please ensure you add location data with the DOB and DOD, avoiding abbreviations. Add citations for sources with links to enable verification of profile data.

I suggest Dutch Roots Project leader- Bea Wijma, or German Roots Project, leader Jacqueline Clark

Or use the Pre-1700 Projects list. Join a project if it fits your ancestor’s profiles.

For any questions just ask on my page.

Hi again.

One Month Member! How are things going? A couple of tips for you as you add to your tree. If you find a duplicate profile, and complete a merge, all the information from one merge is copied into the new combined profile. Please go in and edit the Biography section and put information under the correct headers and removed "duplicate" information.

Also, don't create "unknown" profiles. If you don't have a last or first name, note the related information in the related profile's biography section until additional information is found.

If you don't have a date or place of birth, at least try and estimate that information and note that it is an estimate in the Bio section.

And lastly, source as you go, because if you're like me, you won't remember where you found the info. Nae

Hi! How are things going? Do you have any questions? Two week member!

As you go farther back in your tree, it is a good idea to do a search first to see if you have a match already created on Wiki Tree before creating a new profile. And keep in mind, if you do find a match, odds are the manager is also related to that person and probably you!

There is a great question to review on G2G regarding duplicate profiles and merges. See: http://www.wikitree.com/g2g/51703/behind-merges-identifying-lowest-numbered-profile-correct A great place to ask specific question is on G2G. Under My Wiki Tree (on of the links at top right) select G2G PROFILE. You can browse/ask/answer questions. You can also "tag" them by topic. I am a mentor, so let me know if you have any questions! Hello all... I'm an amateur genealogist with a policing background. These investigations are more fun and less serious than many I've done! I've been researching family history for about 10 years but have been fascinated by it since I was a youngster! I live near Shreveport, LA and work in TX as a criminal justice professor.
