I sent you a message a couple of weeks ago on behalf of the Germany Project and have not yet heard back from you. I hope you are well!
If I don’t hear back from you by the end of April, I will assume you no longer wish to be a member of the Germany Project and I’ll go ahead and remove you from our member roster. You are, of course, welcome to rejoin at any time via our G2G sign-up post.
The Germany Project Leaders are doing their semi-annual check-in with all project members and we want to verify that you’re still interested in being a member of the Project. Please respond by private message and let me know.
Are you currently working with one of our Sub-projects or Teams? If not, take a look at our main Project page for a full list. We recently launched a new Profile Improvement Team and are seeking new team members. Let me know if you’re interested.
We really appreciate your contributions on WikiTree, and thank you for all your hard work. If you have any questions, please ask. We would also love to hear any feedback you may have for the project.
Willi, How is your genealogical research going along? --Any new ways to find "our" Jews in particular, or to track the more recent ones back to their roots???
AND: Which in your fantastic bibliography to the left here is a great resource for the JR Project? --though choosing one is probably improbable!
Willi, thank you so much for your comment of jan 21, '18 about the way I comment on my research. I would not be doing genealogy at all if I stuck to the factitious approach that many thousands of people do, DESPITE that after a couple of generations we can do nothing except state facts and the hypothetical suggestions of our ancestors and their records. it is the HUMAN BEINGS behind the names and vital stats that I'm interested in of course. My tree is Hilse-40, as you must know. I thank you so much for your comments.
I hope you'lll join the Jewish Roots project and take up the most interesting part of our research as a side project of your membership. We need a good mind who can connect the dots.
Thank you, Willi. I've looked at your tree leading up to Reiner Geller -- wow! So far, I am not able to link my Gellers to anyone in your Geller tree. Perhaps over time, as more Gellers get added into WikiTree, we will find some links. Best regards, K Yager
Thank you for your latest message. Perhaps our Gellers will turn out to be connected.
Upon further review, I have some doubts about Johann Geller b. 1830, who I mentioned in my previous message. His information came to me from someone researching the Gellers. I have not seen documentation linking him to Joseph Peter Geller b. 1852, my relative who emigrated to the USA. -K. Yager

You asked about the birthplaces for my Geller ancestors. There were two born in Cologne: John Geller b.1830 and his son Joseph Geller b.1852. -K. Yager
I see you're a match for my mother as well (https://www.gedmatch.com/r-list2.php?kit_num=A356487) - Since you're a 5th gen relative with no other clear ties to my tree, I suspect you may be related to my Grandpa Ludwig... He was raised in an NY orphanage after his immigrant parents died, but we have no further information on where they came from or what their names were! They might've been born in the 1860s and died in New York... https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Ludwig-1392
Thanks and of course I know/am familiar with the popularity and usage of my families' surnames. That alone makes it possible only to feel I'm swimming upstream i8s search of family members.
