Biography

Martha was born about 1806, the daughter of Henry Reynolds and was named in his will.[1] She passed away in 1895 and is buried at Antioch Cemetery, Hartshorn, Texas County, Missouri.

Research Notes

The birth date given at her memorial page is 11 July 1805[2] but there is no stone or record found to confirm this date. It is too close to her brother, Henry's birth date engraved on his gravestone..[3]

She could be the daughter of Henry Reynolds and Charity McNew if she were born after 3 May 1808 but since she is listed in her father's will in the complete listing of "beloved children", and not in the partial list that were given land upon his death, it can be assumed she is older and already got her portion of land.

She married Josiah (Joel) Morgan[4] and they were the parents of Sarah, Elender, Mary Jane, William and John. All born in Green Co., TN.

Children:
Ellender Patsy Morgan Stark 1831-1920
William Green Morgan 1838-1887
Mary Jane Morgan Gale 1838-1916
John S. Morgan 1841-1863

The Find a Grave reference added to this profile lists Charity McNew as Martha's mother. This is highly unlikely since Martha was born in 1805 and the Reynolds/McNew wedding was in 1808....proving that you can't trust everything on the internet! An unsourced bit of writing is not genealogical evidence. :)
I concur with Michelle. We need actual evidence. The birth/marriage date is the best reasoning given the evidence at hand.

Reynolds-10017 and Reynolds-9061 appear to represent the same person because: Same actuarials, geography. Seems that the duplication was caused by different perspectives when constructed-- one spousal, the other ancestral.

Michelle, I see there was some conflation with Mary "Polly" Reynolds and Martha "Pastsy" Reynolds and I agree about the Morgan connections. I completed the merge. Let's get her husband on here and maybe see if we can learn who Mary Polly m. John Rose is? And dig us some more source materials.

Hi Michelle, what do we need to do to confirm the proposed merged profiles are of the same person?

Reynolds-16078 and Reynolds-9061 appear to represent the same person because: Hello, It looks like you added Patsy's name taken from Henry's will. For some reason, when I entered Patsy's profile it didn't show up as a match until I entered her father Henry's info. Please merge my Martha "Patsy" into the group tree. Thanks!
