Steven Anne Reitsma was trained at the Koninklijke Militaire Academy (KMA) as officer of the Dutch army and appointed 2nd lieutenant of the infantry on 26 July 1895. In 1906 he went to the Koninklijk Nederlandsch Indisch Leger (KNIL) at his own request and left Nederlands Oost-Indië on 21 July 1908 where he served at the 9th Battalon Infantry [5][6]. In 1908 he left the military service and went to the civil service on 22 September 1922. As a colonial civil servant, he works at the Indische Staatsspoorwegen. In 1920-1921 he was acting mayor of Bandung. Steven Anna Reitsma was retiring in 1928[7] and became editor-in-chief of the Tijdschrift of Spoor and Tramwegen. He was also employee of some Indische newspapers such as De Locomotief and the Soerabajasch Handelsblad[8]. Steven Anne Reitsma was honered as Officer of the Order of Orange-Nassau[9]
