Biography

Elizabeth was born a twin to her brother Sandeman in 1854 in Chester le Street, Durham, England the daughter of Patrick Sandeman Reid and Elizabeth (Boosey) Reid.^[1]

1861 Census on the 7th April 1861 Elizabeth was living at Pelton Level, Chester-le-Street, Durham, with her parents Patrick and Elizabeth and her siblings Thomas, Isabella, Laurence, Maurice, Fanny and Sandeman. Patrick's cousin Andrew Reid and his children Louisa and Sidney were also living there.^[2]

1871 Census on the 2nd April 1871 Elizabeth was living in Marylebone, London with her parents Patrick and Elizabeth and her siblings Isabella, Maurice, Fanny, Sandeman and Theodore. Also living there was Patrick's sister Marian B. Reid aged 39.^[3]

1881 Census on the 3rd April 1881 Elizabeth was living at Brent Villas, Hendon, Middlesex with her mother Elizabeth and her siblings Thomas, Isabella, Maurice and Sandeman.^[4]

1901 Census on the 31st March 1901 Elizabeth was living at 6 Queen Annes Villas, Sunny Gardens, Hendon, Middlesex with her widowed mother Elizabeth and her siblings Thomas and Isabella, and Thomas' children Mary, Irene, Patrick and Edward.^[5]

1911 Census on the 2nd April 1911 Elizabeth was living in Hexham Villa, Sunny Gardens, Hendon, Middlesex with her mother Elizabeth's sister Harriet Boosey aged 85.^[6]

Elizabeth, of Merrylands Farm, Great Bookham, Surrey, died aged 84 on the 24th October 1939.^[7]

Probate of Elizabeth's estate, £1959 15s. 4d., was processed in London on the 22nd December 1939 and passed to Barclays Bank Ltd and to Alfred Belsher a solicitor.^[8]
