I am lucky that several people in my family have an interest in genealogy and I would like to build on the work they have done. My grandmother and her cousin John Hanley have been researching the Brooke line of Essex County Virginia for many years. Beyond Robert Brooke I there is no official source proving who his parents are. If William Brooke is Robert’s dad then I am probably related to Henry II… if not, who knows? This is the big mystery that would be a miracle to unravel in my lifetime!
My uncle Doug and cousin David have researched my father’s family, the Regeimbal line. Searching other sites I have found information from Father Clement Regeimbal (who wrote a history of the Regimbal family which I can no longer find a copy of online so I am going to need to track it down again!), Yves Daoust, M Forestier (Find a Grave), Nancy Beloit Searle (Find a Grave researcher of Gentilly Minnesota and St Peter’s Cemetary) and George Tucker Brooke who researched the history of the Brooke line in the “The Virginia Magazine of History and Biography”.
Right now I’m most interested in the moments when my family immigrated to the U.S. I am working through my paternal ancestors. Scholastique Payette Regeimbal, my 5th great grandmother, who immigrated with her children, including my 4th great grandfather Charles Regeimbal, from Quebec, Canada to Polk, Minnesota in the 1800s. Also, I want to link my great grandmother Marie E O’Neill whose parents were from Ireland. I have found some of my ancestors who immigrated from England, including Moore Fauntelroy, Elizabeth M Ferris, and a more dicey one Humphrey Booth, Sr.
My paternal grandmother’s families Sutton and Herring are also of interest. I would like to research my grandmother’s parents and beyond to connect them to the Wikitree.
So this is very personal interest at the moment, but I hope to contribute research to the other unconnected profiles when I complete adding my own links and sources.

Thanks for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz!
Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within the projects which coordinate them is essential. You can learn more about joining the community in How To #3 and in the Project FAQ.
Use the Pre-1700 Projects list to find one which best fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or special event. Read the goals and tasks of the project and join if it is a good fit.
Let me know if you have trouble finding projects which fit your focus. Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page.

Now that you have had a little time to try our site, there are a few more features you may find useful:
For instance, ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards; including some tips on writing biographies
Also a friendly reminder about adding sources and references to your profile. Sources are critically important for genealogy and you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from. This page describes different kinds of sources: http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Sources
If you have any questions, feel free to ask!
Not sure how to start? Visit How to Use Wikitree for instructions.
Don't forget to ask for help if you need it! WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist.
In case you haven't seen it, our G2G Question of the week is: What genealogy item is on your Christmas wishlist this year?
