Biography
Louisa Reed is a part of US Black heritage.
Louisa was born about 1858. She was the daughter of Zion Reed (1815-1916) and Lucy (Smith) Reed.
In the 1870 census Louisa (age 12) was in Nahunta, Wayne, North Carolina, United States.[1]
Research Notes
- Louisa did not appear with the portion of the family who were counted as Free People of Color on the 1860 U.S. Census.
- At the time of the 1880 U.S. Census a Lulu Reid was enumerated with the family. She is most likely Julius (Reed) Reid (abt.1858-aft.1920), the wife of Louisa Reeds brother, Julius (Reed) Reid (abt.1858-aft.1920). The small child James, is their son.
