Biography
A previous version of this profile claimed, without source, that Joseph was son of Geoffrey Redknap. Lacking evidence for these origins, Joseph has been detached from Geoffrey.
A previous version of this profile also claimed that Joseph Redknap married Sarah Laughton/Haughton, daughter of Thomas. Here's what Anderson says:
"In his 1914 treatment of the Belknap family of Lynn, while discussing a document which at one point confused the surnames Belknap and Redknap, Henry Wyckoff Belknap made the 'unsupported claim that 'Joseph Rednap married Sarah dau[ghter] of Thomas Laughton' [NEHGR 68:196]. Thomas Laughton married at Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire, on 3 July 1632 Sarah Lenthall [TG 19:226-27] and so could not have had a daughter old enough to be the wife of Joseph Redknap. Furthermore, Thomas Laughton Junior married a daughter of Joseph Redknap, who would have been his niece if Redknap had married a daughter of Thomas Laughton senior. We conclude that the claim that Joseph Redknap married daughter of Thomas Laughton Senior derives from confusion with the known marriage of Thomas Laughton Junior to Sarah Redknap, and that the identity of the wife of Joseph Redknap remains unknown."[1]

Thanks. Anderson confirms the origin location but stops short of naming his parents but I wondered since that Great Migration volume is now 11 years old and I did not find an entry in GMD.
Anderson says, however, that no record has been found for the name of his wife. He says further, Henry Wyckoff Belknap made the unsupported claim that "Joseph Rednap married Sarah, daughter of Thomas Laughton" but that Thomas Laughton married Sarah Lenthall on July 3, 1632 so their daughter could not have been old enough to be the wife of Joseph Rednap.
