Biography

When Taylor Pendleton Read was born about September 1856 in Spencer, Virginia, [1]his father, Dr. Robert Alexander Reade, was age 46; his mother, Frances Anne Pendleton, was age 43. Taylor Read lived in Henry County, Virginia, in 1870.[2]

When Taylor was 20 years old, he married Nancy "Nannie" Samuel Irby on December 15, 1878 in Halifax County, Virginia, [3] [4]They lived in Birch Creek, Halifax County, Virginia [5] and had two children: Manson Austin Read and John Pendleton Read.

After Nancy Irby Read's death, Taylor married Mary Elizabeth "Lizzie" Royall on 28 Apr 1886 in Henry County, Virginia.[6] They made their home in Horse Pasture, Henry County, Virginia,[7][8] [9] [10][11] and had seven children[12] together.

Taylor died in 1944 in Spencer, Henry, Virginia, at the age of 86, and was buried at Old Well Christian Church Cemetery located in Spencer, Henry County, Virginia.[13]
