She married John Heeney in 1851 in Dublin.^{[citation needed]} Their children were:

• Mary Heeney (1852–1932)^{[citation needed]}
• William Joseph Heeney (1866?–1921)^[1]

They emigrated to Australia in 1863 on the "Maryborough".^[2][3] Lucy died on 16 July 1916 in Richmond, Victoria, Australia.^[4] Her remains were buried in July 1916 in Carlton, Victoria.^{[citation needed]}
