Nancy Anne (Pumroy) Jackson was born on 9 Mar 1950 in Fort Lewis, Washington, United States. She is the daughter of Jack Pumroy and Helen Leedy. She grew up in Washington State. She lived for many years with her grandmother and step-grandfather in eastern Washington, and she spent a few years with her mother and step-father in Seattle, Washington. Nancy attended Walla Walla College from 1968 to 1971. She later transferred her college credits to Washington State University Tri-Cities and graduated with a bachelor’s degree.

Nancy married Thomas Martin Jackson, Jr. (Marty), on 29 Jun 1974 in Yucaipa, California. They made their home in San Bernardino, California, where they both worked for Loma Linda University. Nancy worked for 17 years for Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry, and Marty worked for the Loma Linda University, Hospital Pharmacy in the Shipping and Receiving Area. In March 1991, Nancy moved with her husband and son to Kennewick, Washington, where Nancy worked for Battelle, Pacific Northwest National Laboratory for 25 years in the clerical field. Marty did kitchen and bath remodeling for occupation. Nancy retired in 2013. Hi Nancy,

I do not think that James Madison Vaughn Sr. and James William Vaughan are not a match and that their profiles should not be merged, Their names, dates of birth, death and marriage do not match. For instance, information about James Madison Vaughn Sr. is found in the 1840 census records for 1840 for Estill, Kentucky; the 1850 census records for Knox, Kentucky; the 1860 census records for Knox, Kentucky; the 1870 census records for Knox, Kentucky; and the 1880 census records for Knox, Kentucky. A Kentucky marriage record shows James M. Vaughn and Susan Reed were married on 15 Mar 1838 in Estill, Kentucky. His date of birth is based on information he provided for the 1850 census which lists his age as 36 and shows his wife Susan age 28. His death date is established by examining his tomb stone in the Vaughn-McNeil Cemetery in Swan Lake, Knox County, Kentucky, where the tomb stone for his wife, Susan Reed, is also located. I believe that the parents of James William Vaughn were Daniel Tarleton Vaughan and Francis Whitehead. However, I believe that the parents of James Madison Vaughn Sr. may have been Benjamin A. Vaughn and Susanna Burnett and that James M. Vaughn Sr. may have been born in Madison County, Kentucky, When I fully establish this relationship with factual information, I plan to submit it to wikitree for approval. Nancy, I do not think that there is sufficient information and validation to list Daniel Tarleton Vaughan and Frances Whitehead as parents of James Madison Vaughn Sr. I respectfully request that you examine again the justification for listing this relationship and remove it from wiketree if you then think there is sufficient doubt about its authenticity. Thank for for considering my denial of the request to merge the profiles of James Madison Vaughn Sr. and James William Vaughan and my request to remove Daniel Tarleton Vaughan and Frances Whitehead as parents of James Madison Vaughn Sr. James F. Haynes.

Yes, that makes sense for his parents being Benjamin Vaughn and Susannah Burnett, except, I think he was born in Estill, Kentucky where his brother Thomas Hudson Vaughn was born, where he was married, and where he was in the 1840 U.S. Federal Census.

Hi Nancy,

I agree with the merger of the two profiles for James Madison Vaughn Jr. They are the same person and should be merged. James Madison Vaughn Jr. was my maternal grandfather. Since it appears that you are far more adept in using wikitree, would you please do what is necessary to merge the two profiles for James Madison Vaughn Jr. Thanks for for your assistance with this merger and for all the contributions you have made to wikitree. James F. Haynes.

Hi Kristina,

I would be happy to have Lillie Neff’s profile if you truly don’t mind giving her up. You have done a fantastic job with the genealogy of the the Neff family.

I am related to some of Lillie Neff’s descendants, including Edith (Rodibaugh) Neff, daughter of Frank Neff and Edith Rodibaugh. Edith (Rodibaugh) Neff was the daughter of Martha Jane Leedy and Samuel Alonzo Rodibaugh. Edith married Frank Neff, who was Lillie Neff’s brother. Martha Jane (Leedy) Rodibaugh was the sister of my great grandfather, George Franklin Leedy.

Edith and I (Nancy Pumroy Jackson) are first cousins twice removed.

Edith L. (Rodibaugh) Neff (1875-1902) and Nancy (Pumroy) Jackson are both descendants of Mary Ann Smith (1828-1898).

1. Edith is the daughter of Martha Jane (Leedy) Rodibaugh (1850-1930) [unknown confidence] 2. Martha is the daughter of Mary Ann Smith (1828-1898) [unknown confidence] This makes Mary the grandmother of Edith.

1. Nancy is the daughter of Helen Louise (Leedy) Kuntz (1928-2013) [unknown confidence] 2. Helen is the daughter of George Clingman Leedy (1891-1985) [unknown confidence] 3. George is the son of George Franklin Leedy (1853-1940) [unknown confidence] 4. George is the son of Mary Ann Smith (1828-1898) [unknown confidence] This makes Mary the second great grandmother of Nancy.

Thank you, Nancy (Pumroy) Jackson

Hello Nan

Thanks for contributing your research to WikiTree. It's really appreciated!

I noticed that you recently created a couple of pre-1700 profiles - Peter Draper Sr. (1685-1725) and his wife Hannah (Bagley) Draper (1692-1743). You've added a link to an Ancestry tree as the source. An Ancestry tree isn't considered to be an adequate source for a pre-1700 profile on WikiTree. You may not have seen the changes to the requirements for pre-1700 profiles - Help: Pre-1700 profiles. Please could you read over that page again. At least one reliable source needs to be added to the profile at the time you create it.

If you check out this page - https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Reliable_Sources_for_Pre-1700_Profiles, there are a number of pages outlining the sources that meet the pre-1700 source requirements for various locations. You can also ask about sources for a specific profile on the G2G.

You might also consider joining a project that is relevant to the research that you are doing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Kind regards Gillian

Hi Nancy - thanks for adding sources to Aaron Brown Leedy! Just wanted to mention that you can see a photo of Aaron [Leedy-65], his wife Mary, and 5 of their children in the "Leedy Family History" by Gordon M Connelly, 1985, 702 pp. See profile 272 in that book. Also see a photo of his father Daniel [Leedy-23] in that same book (profile 52), which also has 2 full pages of stories about Daniel. Daniel was the brother of John "Big John" Leedy [Leedy-18], my g-g-g-grandfather.

Hi Tom,

Thank you for your message about the Leedy family. My mother’s maiden name was Leedy. I am also related to Big John Leedy as follows: Nancy is John's third great grand niece.

John Leedy and Nancy (Pumroy) Jackson are both descendants of Abraham Leedy.

1. John is the son of Abraham Leedy (1748-1834) [unknown confidence] This makes Abraham the father of John.

George is the son of John A. Leedy (1812-1874) [unknown confidence] 5. John is the son of Abraham Leedy (1787-1860) [unknown confidence] 6. Abraham is the son of Abraham Leedy (1748-1834) [unknown confidence] This makes Abraham the fourth great grandfather of Nancy.

I have the Leedy Family History by Gordon M. Connelly. I also have a couple of letters from Gordon Connelly. He informed me that he and I were double cousins. His book is a wonderful book. I bought three copies of the book when it was published in 1885 and kept a copy and gave my mother, Helen (Leedy) Kuntz, a copy and a copy to my uncle Gordon Leedy.

I am in the process of adding sources to my Leedy ancestors, their family, and spouses. I will check my copy of the Leedy Family History for information also. I also have a a subscription to Ancestry.com. So I am looking at the census, marriage, death, birth, military, and whatever records I can find for sources. Unfortunately, many of the Leedy profiles were brought into Wikitree.com through the import of study.ged. They often do not have any sources. There also photos in many of the ancestry.com family trees that can be used in the Wikitree.com profiles. I will add more photos.

Hi Nancy, Do you have any supporting documentation for the birth date of Cassandra Flournoy (Flournoy-335) that you just changed besides the Find a Grave which has no picture of a gravestone?

It appears that we are 12th Cousins through the Wheeler Line, but that isn't how I found you. I added some things to Margaret Elizabeth (Kuntz/Counce) Conger's profile...she is my 3rd Great Aunt, daughter of my 3rd Great Grandfather Adam Kuntz/Counce. I also connected her to her parents. With you being her profile manager I was curious as to your connection...then saw that it's via marriage through the Conger line. Just thought I'd leave you a hello.
