Biography
Elizabeth was born about 1806 in Llangelynin, Merionethshire, Wales [1]to Edward Pugh of Dolgellau and Elizabeth Vaughan of Llangelynin. She married John Davies in Dolgelly in 1825 [2] and together they had 6 children. On the Marriage banns she is described as Elisabeth Pugh of the Storehouse confirming the link to her parents who lived at the Storehouse from 1811 till at least 1825. The Storehouse is north of Dolgelly by the river Afon Mawddach where Elisabeth's father was a boatman. In 1841 John and Elizabeth are living at the Storehouse [3]. John and Elizabeth lived around Dolgelly for the remainder of their lives [4] [5] [6]. She passed away in 1879 in Dolgelly [7]
