Biography

Rocco Puccio, possidente (landowner), is born around 1825 in Corleone, the son of Antonio Puccio and Lucia Streva.^[1] He shares a name with an older brother who dies at age eleven in 1824.

Rocco is married to a woman who is also named Lucia Streva, daughter of Paolo Streva and Laura Paternostro, on 3 February 1845. Rocco's mother has died by this time.^[2] Their marriage record does not mention this, but Lucia and Rocco are second cousins.

Rocco and Lucia have at least two children, Antonio (1852) and Paolo (1857).

Antonio is born 26 July 1852 and baptized the next day, named after his paternal grandfather. His godparents are Francesco Streva and Pietra Streva, unmarried daughter of Andrea.^[3]

Paolo is born and baptized 1 October 1857. The midwife, Francesca Paola de Luca, age 53, midwife, reports the birth of a child to Lucia Streva, age 32, in via Candelora, and her husband Rocco Puccio, age 30 (b. 1827), borgese.^[4]

Paolo marries Giovanna Campagna in 1881.^[4]

Death of Rocco

Rocco dies at age 70 in his home at via Sferlazzo, 55 on 27 September 1895, a widower.^[1][5][6]

Antonio marries Rosa Artale on 29 April 1906.^[7]
