Henrietta May (Pryde-Sumner) Slee was born in 1894 in Collingwood, Yarra City, Victoria, Australia. Her parents were William Pryde-Sumner (1858 - 1938) and Marie Anna (Thornley) Pryde-Sumner (1868 - 1928).
