Biography
Leoluca Provenzano is a Corleone native resident, the son of Giuseppe Provenzano and Bernarda Palermo, who married in 1838.
His father has died by 1845, when his older half-brother, Salvatore, marries.
Leoluca marries Giuseppa Lucera, daughter of the late Vincenzo Lucera and Luigia Caronia, on 29 January 1871 in Corleone.[1]
Leoluca and Giuseppa have at least two children, Bernarda (1871) and Maria Lucia (c. 1875).
Bernarda is born and baptized on 28 October 1871 in Corleone. Her godparents are Giuseppe Lucera and sister Benigna Lucera.[2]
Maria Lucia is born around 1875, based on the record of her marriage.
Bernarda and Giuseppa emigrate to New York City together in 1896.
Maria Lucia Provenzano, age 22 (b. 1875), daughter of “Dioluco” Provenzano (Leoluca Provenzano) and Giuseppa Lucera (“Luccera”), marries Giovanni Cali on 16 October 1897 in Manhattan. Bride and groom were both born in Italy.[3]
