Etymological research of the name Giesick comes up with very little information beyond that the name is German.[1][2]

Translated from Heraldrys Institute: Johann Gieseke 1451 Winsen student Johann 1733 Reutlingen Plattner Butz 1481 Löwental Member Northwest German first name Giso. Not before the 15th century, appearing as a clan name, but as a first name in the 13th / 14th Century very often. Sometimes Giseke is diminutive for Giselbert and Gisebrecht. Chance can (also old Giseke) have become eponymous in Westphalia Geseke place name. Giseke Since the late XIII century, from Charles IV. (1346-1378), have the Kaiserwappen awarded without raising the beneficiaries to the peerage. In the XV century they have entrusted the Palatine with the coat of arms procurement, which granted also citizens Family Crest since.
