Amable, born Amable Primo, on 9 July 1795 in Châteauguay, Bas-Canada and baptised the next day at Saint-Joachim Church. She was the daughter of Jean Louis Primeau and Marie Lacroix (née Hubert dit Lacroix). Her godparents were Jean Baptiste Gagner and Marie Louise Petit. ^[1]
Transcription of the baptism act: "Le dixieme de juillet l'an mil sept cent quatre vingt quinze par nous a été baptisée Amable née d'hier du legitime mariage de Jean Louis Primo & de Marie Lacroix. Le parein J Bte Gagner & la mareine Marie Louise Petit qui n'ont su signer de ce requis."

On 11 November 1811, at Saint-Joachim church in Châteauguay, Bas-Canada, Amable married Jean Baptiste Rousseau, son of Pierre Rousseau and Marie Bouthillier.^[2]
Transcription of the marriage act: "L'onzieme de Novembre l'an mil huit cent onze apres trois publicaions de bans aux prones des messes paroissiales entre Jean Baptiste Rousseau, fils majeur de Pierre Rousseau, laboureur, et de Marie Bouthillier, ses pere & mere de cette paroisse d'une part; & Amable Primo, fille mineur de Jean Louis Primo, laboureur, et de feue Marie Lacroix, ses pere & mere de cette paroisse d'autre part; Nous soussigné de l'accord des parens, avons reçu leur mutuel consentement sans aucune opposition & leur avons donné la benediction nuptiale en presence de Pierre Rousseau pere du marié & de Jean Louis Primo pere de la mariée qui n'ont su signer de ce requis."
