Melinda Price was born about 1795 in Kentucky (or Maryland, as some say). She was the daughter of John Price. Melinda married Lewis Williams shortly after her marriage bond was signed on the 1st of December 1810, in Harrison County, Kentucky.[1]
In 1792 Kentucky became the 15th state to join the Union. (Wikipedia)
In the 1850 census, Melinda's age is said to be 44. This has to be incorrect, as that would make her four years old when married in 1810. Lewis' birth year is most likely incorrect as well. A 1796 birth would make him age fourteen at time of marriage. This makes me wonder if one of the children was the informant for the census.
I cannot locate Melinda or any of her children in the 1860 Census. District 1, Harrison County census only has one page of families, so this census record may have been lost/damaged. Update, I found son James in the unnamed section of Harrison County, but didn't find family members in the pages around him.
Please see the Family section on her husband's profile for additional unknown children.
