Myron was born in 1838. He is the son of Martin Prentiss and Rosanna Unknown. He was in the 37th New York Infantry aka the “Irish Rifles”, as a Sergeant during the US Civil War. He died on July 9, 1862, at a Soldier's Home in Manhattan, of disease. He is buried at Cypress Hills National Cemetery, in Brooklyn.
