Biography

2018: I am interested in genealogy since 35 years. My Brother’s Keeper database now contains more than 53,000 persons. Since I would like to provide my infos to everyone, I just found out WikiTree and think it is probably the best way to continue my journey into this hobby. I am still working 40+ hours a week for a large IT company, so my free time is limited, but I will do my best to help. I will progressively upload my data via multiple reduced size Gedcom.

Hi there! I noticed that through your addition of Plouf/Plouffe etc profiles, you have been adding quite a few profiles with "unknown" as the surname. Given the sheer number, consider either orphaning these profiles or finding a source to support a last name at birth, so that when others come across them, it's easier to correct.

You may also want to take a look at the Wikitree Browser extension, which can do awesome things such as cleanup a gedcom import and create an automated biography. https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:WikiTree_Browser_Extension

I just removed myself from a lot of profiles, going from some 34,000 to 18,000. I cannot go further since the remaining are not old enough. As for the browser extension, I will look at it when I have more free time. JP

Hi, Jean Pierre, thank you for your note on Plouffe-4769. I did find a census record of 1900 for him so I added that and searched find a grave for all the name variations. Nothing. So I removed the FAG reference as it isn't helping, and added a death after 1900 entry. Wish I could have done more.

Jeannine St-Jean est ma grand-mère maternel et Rodolphe Plouffe est mon grand-père maternel. Je suis le fils de Louise Plouffe.

Je n'ai pas mis à jour l'information mais Lucie Plouffe, fille de Jeannine et Rodolphe est décédé d'un ACV en 2017 en France. Ses cendres sont à Gatineau.
