Research notes

Arthur William Thomas (1883-1917) is not named as the father of Enid Adina, but is recorded as present at both her birth 1911 and death 1913. Living and working on the same plantation at the time of their marriage in 1916, Arthur had obviously been Adina Elizabeth's partner for some time. The timing of the marriage seems to indicate that Arthur wished to be able to secure Adina financially; she would receive separation allowance from his army earnings and a war gratuity upon his death.
