Robert, The Jacob Steinbruch born in 1725 could not have been the father of Maria Barbara Steinbruch b. 1741 and married to Adam Dietrich b. 1740...Jacob would have been only 16 yrs. old!
Hi Robert, and thanks for the note. I was questioning the death location and offering a possibility of how a colonial Marylander was shown as having died in a Colorado county that was not formed until 1861 (from https://familysearch.org/wiki/en/Huerfano_County,_Colorado_Genealogy : "Before 1861 this modern Colorado county was in New Mexico....part of Taos County in New Mexico Territory."). Samuel's relative Francis (nephew, I think) was known to have moved to Wilkes county, Georgia, to an area that is now Taliaferro county. It seems more likely Samuel, born Maryland, might have moved there (to Georgia) than to a Colorado county that didn't exist. Sorry if I caused confusion. Guess I really do need two cups of coffee to be coherent (only had one today).
Hi Robert! I noticed you postponed the MatchBot-proposed merge of Morgan James I posted a comment on James-7489, then realized you weren't a profile manager so you might not see it. Here's a copy. Hope it gives you some leads to pursue as you research this pair, which look to me like they are intended to represent the same person.
The profiles of the wives should be explored as possible duplicates too... many records record dual dates for January-March of that era (the year started in March - "old style" - so 1694/5 would indicate a 1694 year by the old calendar but 1695 by the new).
You might also look into Quaker sources, as one of the profiles ref'd Quaker records.
Yes, gedcoms lose their linkages. I think it happens when a profile is skipped in the Gedcom. I still find missing links on my gedcoms. That's why i mention it when I see unconnected profiles. They are hard to find.

Please add quality sourced information to your profiles which is extremely important. Estimate if you aren't sure about birth or death dates. By doing so you searches will be more productive and helping expand your branches.
Also, this aids WikiTree Arborists in finding duplicates. *Most importantly check for duplicates before adding new profiles.*
Feel free to contact me if you need any assistance. Thanks for your desire to help us improve our mission!
