Biography

George was born in 1610 and baptised on 21 October 1610 in Prestbury, Cheshire, England.[1]

George married Elizabeth Parkinson.[2]

George Piggott moved to Preston from Cheshire some time between 1622 and 1642, for he was entered on the guild rolls in that period; by 1663 he was occupying one of the largest houses in the town. George Piggott senior died in 1684. Robert Piggott’s name is attached to a three-storey house on the south side of Church Street on the 1685 plan of the town and a house in Fishergate is shown as belonging to or occupied by George Piggott esq. His sister Mary was married to Richard Assheton of Cuerdale and Downham. [3]

He was the first cousin of Henry Pigot B.D. (1628-1722). [4]

George died in 1684[5] and his estate passed probate on 10 June 1684. His last residence was Preston, Lancashire, England.[6]
