Biography

Clement was born on 17 July 1891 at St Helier, Isle of Jersey. His parents were Matthew John Fauvel Picot and Elizabeth Duheaume Picot ..... He was baptised at St James' Church, St Helier on 2 August 1891.

At the 1901 census the family home is recorded at 16 Woodbury Park Road, Tunbridge Wells, Kent. Noted are his father Matthew J F Picot (35, manager ... bookshop, born St Helier), mother Elizabeth Picot (39, born St Helier), brother John Picot (12, born St Helier), Clement Picot (9, born St Helier), brother Frank Picot (7, born St Helier), sister Mary Picot (6, born St Helier), brother George Picot (3, born St Helier) brother Philip (1, born St Ad...? Jersey), and grandmother Mary E Picot (70, widow, born St Ad...? Jersey).

At the 1911 census Clement (19) is recorded at 1 Upper Vernon Street, Clerkenwell, London. He is a boarder and noted to be a cable wire operator for the Post Office.

In 1913 Clement Picot married Ethel Winifred Tubb. Their marriage was registered at Croydon, Surrey, in the third quarter of the year.

A son Jack F Picot was born and died in 1914, both birth and death being registered in the second quarter of the year at Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales.

Daughter Elsie F Picot was born in 1915, registered in the fourth quarter of the year at Machynlleth, Montgomeryshire, Wales.

Son Clement F Picot was born in 1916, registered in the fourth quarter of the year at Machynlleth.

The Surrey Electoral Register for 1929 lists Clement's wife Ethel W Picot at 12 The Parade, Carshalton, Surrey, the residence of her younger brother Herman Netherton Tubb and their mother Mary Leila Tubb. Clement is not recorded here.

Clement Picot "of Ballintrae House, Havelock Close, Felpham, Bognor Regis, died 5 July 1971" (National Probate Calendar).

Clement's death was registered at Chichester, Sussex, in the third quarter of 1971, aged 80 (full date of birth confirmed).
