George6, b. 18 Sept., 1752, a soldier 7 years in the Revolution, then a miller and farmer; res. and built a mill on a little river in the west of Topsham, Sagadahoc County, Me. He was at Yorktown when Cornwallis surrendered in Oct., 1781. He m. 1780, Deborah, (daughter of Luke) Lombard, and d. 8 Feb., 1820 [or 21]. They had 10 ch. He res. In Durham, Me., and became a Baptist preacher, then a prominent member of the Society of the Friends, being delegate to their yearly meetings at Providence and at Philadelphia, going on horseback.
