Marie Josephe Petit was born and baptized on 25 Feb 1736 in Sainte-Anne parish of Varennes, Canada, Nouvelle-France. She was the daughter of Louis Petit and Marie Anne Meunier. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Jacques Jaudouin and Marie Anne Lhussier. The officiating priest was Ulric.[1]
Marriage
Marie Anne Petit married François Messier dit St-François, son of the late Jean Baptiste Messier and the late Marie Anne Monjeau, on 2 Feb 1761 in Sainte-Anne de Varennes. In the presence of known witnesses Joseph Messier, Pierre Hébert, Bastiin Villiau, and Joseph Fontaine. The celebrant priest was Morand.[2]
Death and Burial
Marie Anne Petit, widow of François Messier dit Saint-François, passed away on 7 Jan 1805 being given the age of around 65 years on the record. Her burial was the 9th in Saint-Antoine-de-Padoue parish cemetery of Longueuil, Bas-Canada.[3]
