Henry was born in 1773 in the area of the North Carolina Colony that later became the Southwest Territory of the United States and then the state of Tennessee. He moved with his extended family to the Cherokee lands in the Mississippi Territory which would later become the Peters Cove area of Jackson County, Alabama. He passed away in 1840.
He married Catherine "Meg" before 1799, when his eldest son William was born. "Meg" was all or part Cherokee. The marriage would have taken place in Tennessee.
He died, at the age of 66-67, in 1840 in Woodville, Alabama. His burial details are unknown but he has a Find a Grave Memorial.[1]
