Biography
- Freida Blanche Peters was born on December 15, 1897, in Tolar, Texas, her father, William, was 22, and her mother, Annie (Moseley) Peters, was 15. She married LeRoy Thomas Penfold the son of Jay William and Lyda Jane (Gereholts) Penfold on 10 September 1922,[1]in Boulder, Colorado, and they had four children during there short marriage. She then married Raymond Vernon Meliza on or about 1939. Freida, came to Eureka, ten years ago to operate with her Husband Raymond the Redwood Nursing Home, and was also a member and past president of the Quota Club. She passed away on Wednesday morning, May 2, 1956,[2]in Humboldt, California, following a short illness at the age of 58. Freida was buried at Ocean View Cemetery in Eureka, California.
