I was told as a child that we are related to Louis Riel and I want to verify that this is true by finding the connection. I have a lot of family from Quebec and Ontario, Canada. There might be a connection through the surname Mallais, Mallet or O'Malley. Other surnames researching in these provinces are; Stewart, Wood, Barnett, from Ontario & Mallais, Piche, Guilbeau, Guilbeault, Guilbault, from Quebec and New Brunswick.
I'm also researching the surname St. Pierre or St. Peters or Peters from Midland, Ontario.
