Emmanuel Perrier, was born April 1860, Flat Bay, Newfoundland according to the 1921 census[1]; and died 26 May 1930, in Flat Bay[2]
According to a biography written by Laverne Cormier[3]:
His date of birth April 1860 is what was listed in the 1921 Census for Flat Bay, Emmanuel was listed as a Widow. His year of birth listed in the bible of my Grandmother, Evelyn Perrier was 1857. His death record is at St. Joseph's R.C. Church, St. George's, Nfld. He is listed as aged 74 years. The Priest was Rev. J.C. Stoyles. (If he was 74 at the time of his death, Emmanuel would have been born in 1856, from the bible 1857 and from the census records 1860.)
It is my belief that Joseph Perrier, born April 1858 and Emmanuel are the same person and that his full name is Joseph Emmanuel. My grandfather Ralph Perrier named one of his sons Joseph Emmanuel and when this child died he named another son Emmanuel Joseph. Emmanuel's sister Louise (married George Benoit) named her first son Joseph Emmanuel and when he died she named another son Joseph Emmanuel. Emmanuel's son Charles named one of his sons Manuel Joseph. Please remember this is just a theory that I have at the moment.)
Marriage
On Apr 19, 1887, Emmanuel Poirier of Flat Bay, son of Benjamin and Elizabeth Marche of Flat Bay, married Mary King of Bank Head, daughter of Reuben and Adline Madore of Bank Head[4].
