Note: In 1927 the family moved back to Canada to the Wheat Bench District three miles south of Rockglen. They lived there for the next two or three years before moving to the Aaron Moyer farm, four and one half miles northeast of Rockglen. In the fall of 1939 the family moved to the Matt Field farm which was one mile south and four miles east of Scout Lake. Doris Alice Ploof, June 17, 1927 - February 11, 2009. Doris Ploof passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 11, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband Mel, her daughter, Jan Williams (Keith), and sons Derrick (Mary Ann) and Calvin (Cheryl),. and grandchildren Joshua, Caitlin, Ryan, Alyssa, and Alex. She will be dearly missed by her sisters, Deloris Rasmussen, Violet Benson, and Florence Bathgate, brother Walter Perrier, sister-in-law Emma Perrier,. many nieces and nephews, and her special friend Janice Gust. Doris was predeceased by her father and mother, Albert and Dora Perrier, one sister Pearl Kabrud, and four brothers, Glenn, Floyd, Lyle, and Wilfred. Doris was raised in Southern Saskatchewan, and came to Edmonton in 1949 where she resided until her passing. Mel and Doris were married on August 30, 1952 and enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage. Doris was a very positive person who was blessed with many great friends. In her later years, Mom became internet literate and spent much time in her beloved TV room surfing the web, watching TV and doing crossword puzzles simultaneously. ^[1]
