Biography

Ann was a Friend (Quaker)

On 19 July 1828 Ann married Benjamin Gilbert Gilkes at Avening, Gloucestershire.[1] They had the following children:

In 1839, Ann and her husband became superintendents of Sidcot School, a Quaker establishment, near Winscombe, Somerset: they stayed in post until 1846.[8]

The 1851 census lists Ann at Winscombe, Somerset, age 55, born Maugersbury, Gloucestershire.[9]

Ann died, age 63, at Nailsworth, Gloucestershire on 13 October 1859.[10] Her death was registered in the Stroud district of Gloucestershire in the 4th quarter of 1859.[11]
