Joseph was born in 1800, the son of Isaac Pegg and Deborah Parks.
Joseph Pegg married 1st, Eliza Park (1801–1834) They had the following children:
Andrew Pegg (1828–1862)
Louise Pegg (1831–1917), who married Nelson Harrold.
Joseph Pegg married 2nd, Margaret Ann Hoffman.
They had the following children:
Annie Eliza Pegg (1835–1909), who married John Paxton.
Wilfred Woodruff Pegg (1844–1903).
Emma Pegg b. 1846, who married 1st, James McBrien, and 2nd, Martin Luther Sweet.
Matilda Jane Pegg b. 1848, who married Jonathan Scott Wallace.
He passed away in 1877. Burial: Pegg Cemetery, East Gwillimbury, York Regional Municipality, Ontario, Canada.
