Micajah Peacock was born about 1775 in Wayne County, North Carolina, son of John Peacock (about 1740–1829) and Mary Thompson (1760–1836).
He was married by 1800 and had two children. His first wife likely died before 1820, since the only female over 10 on that census is on aged 16–25 who is likely to be his daughter Nancy who married in 1825. He may have had seven children: A boy and girl, both under ten in 1800, a boy under 10 and three girls under ten in 1820, plus Nancy, born about 1805. Some of the younger children on the 1820 census may be grandchildren and there may have been other children besides Nancy born between 1800 and 1810.
He was named in his father's 1828 will (probated in Wayne County, NC in 1829). Micajah had moved to Tennessee by 1820, which explains why his father left most of his property to Micajah's younger brothers who were still in Wayne County.
In 1837 he remarried Rose Smith in Wilson County, Tennessee.
Micajah died in 1845 in Wilson County, Tennessee, United States, aged 70.
