Biography

He was the son of Joseph Paxton and Missouri McIntire. In 1880, the Paxtons were living in Wayne Township.^[1]

George married Elizabeth on 25 December 1899 in Muskingum County.^[2] They were living in Madison Township in 1910.^[3] They were living in Dresden in 1930^[4] and 1940.^[5]

George died 20 June 1945.^[6] Burial was at Dresden Cemetery.^[7]

LAST RITES FOR GEORGE PAXTON

“Funeral services for George N. Paxton of Gaysport, formerly of Dresden, who died in Good Samaritan Hospital Wednesday morning, following two years illness, will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Dresden Methodist Church, where he was a member. Rev. L. F. Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Dresden cemetery.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Charles J. Paxton, of Newark, and three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Powelson of Gaysport, with whom he resided, Mrs. Leora Evans of Gaysport and Mrs. Annabelle Boetcher of Zanesville; two brothers, James of Akron, and Charles of East Pike, and three grandchildren.”^[8]
