Maria Paternostro, daughter of Calogero Paternostro and Giuseppa la Venuta, marries Calogero Comaianni, son of Carmelo Comaianni and Marianna Saltaformaggio, on 6 February 1921.[1]
Maria and Calogero have at least one child, Carmelo (c. 1923).
Calogero works as a guardia campestre---a rural watchman---an occupation requiring close working relations with local thieves. He catches a young Luciano Leggio and his associate stealing wheat.
Leggio serves a sentence for the theft. Upon his release, he kills Calogero outside his home in via Sferlazzo on 27 March 1945.[2]
Carmelo marries Maddalena Ribaudo on 20 October 1945 in Corleone.[3]
