Edwin Reuben Parker was born on April 24, 1910 in Watford, Warwick, Lambton, Ontario, Canada, son of Reuben Augustas Parker (1874–1961) and Anna Theresa Jane Wilson (1876–1946).[1]
Edwin died on January 13, 2002 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, aged 91.[2]
As published in the Winnipeg Free Press on Jan 17, 2002: EDWIN REUBEN PARKER Edwin (Ed) Reuben Parker passed away peacefully at Fred Douglas Lodge, on Sunday, January 13, 2002. Ed was born April 24, 1910, in Biggar, SK where he farmed for a number of years before joining the CNR with the Bridge and Building Division. After retiring in 1976 he moved to Winnipeg and resided with his widowed sister Nellie Routley. They spent many happy summers at the cottage on Bird River. Ed was the groundskeeper, woodcutter and all-round handyman for his nephews, Bruce and Keith Routley. When not at the cottage he spent many hours at Bleak House playing bridge and visiting with friends. Ed was very generous to a great many of his nieces and nephews, helping in any way he could. He was predeceased by his brothers, Jim and Stuart; sisters, Caroline, Lorena, Ida; and his parents. Ed leaves to mourn his sister Nellie Louisa Routley, and a great many nieces, nephews and their families.
