Mary Ann Park was born in about 1810 in Etal, Ford parish, Northumberland, England to James Park and Mary (maiden name not found) - the duaghter was christened on 6 Feb 1810 at the Presbyterian Church in Etal.[1]
In 1841 Mary Cockburn (age 32) lived in Ford parish with her husband Christopher (36) and six children: Mary (14), William (12), James (9), John (7), George (4), and Christian (1).[2]
On 30 Mar 1851 Mary Ann Lockburn [Cockburn] (age 43, Laborer's Wife) lived in the village of Etal, Ford parish with five of her children: Mary (24, Assistant), Christiann (10, Scholar), Jane (8, Scholar), Thomas (5, Scholar), and Charles (2).[3] Mary's husband Christopher (45, Labourer) was a visitor in St Nicholas, Durham.
Mary's husband passed away in Dec 1851.
On 7 Apr 1861 Mary Ann Cockburn (age 52, Laundress) lived in Etal Village, Ford parish with six of her children: Mary (33, Laundress), George (22, House Servant), Jane (17, Laundress), Thomas (15, Scholar), Charles (13, Scholar), and Ann (9, Scholar).[4]

In 1881 Mary A Cockburn (age 71) lived in Ford parish with two of her daughters: Mary (53, Laundress Not Dom) and Annie (38 [30], Laundress Not Dom).[5]
In 1891 Mary Ann Cockburn (age 80, Retired Laundress) lived in Ford with her daughter Mary (62, Laundress), son John (55, Retired Coachman), and granddaughter Mary Ann Cockburn (11, Scholar).[6]
Mary Ann Cockburn passed away on 5 Sep 1895, aged 85 years - her death was registered in Glendale, Northumberland [the RD for Etal & Ford] in the third quarter of the year.[7]
She is buried at St Michael and All Angels Churchyard in Ford with her husband and three of their children: "Erected in memory of CHRISTOPHER COCKBURN who died at ETAL December ?? 1851, aged 46 years. Also his son GEORGE COCKBURN who died at ETAL January 22nd 1867, aged 29 years. Also ANNIE COCKBURN his daughter, of ETAL, who died July 22nd 1882, aged 30 years. Also MARY COCKBURN his daughter who died at ETAL Feb 23rd 1894, aged 67 years. Also of MARY ANN COCKBURN, his widow, who died at ETAL Sep 5th 1895, aged 85 years."[8]
